About Orkesumet
Orkesumet is a Maasai area in north-eastern Manyara Region, located on the Maasai Steppe near the border with Arusha Region. The area is named after the Orkesumet village and is predominantly inhabited by Maasai pastoralists.
The landscape is open savannah with acacia trees, suitable for cattle grazing. Orkesumet is remote and undeveloped for tourism, offering an authentic Maasai cultural experience away from the more commercialised areas.
