About Zhushan
Zhushan (竹山) is a town in southern Nantou County, Taiwan, at the foot of the mountains. It is known for its bamboo industry, the historic Zhushan Old Street, and its proximity to the Xitou forest recreation area. The town is also the gateway to the Yushan National Park from the west.
The climate is humid subtropical. October to March are the best months. The town centre is compact.

By Plane
Taichung International Airport (RMQ) is about 65 km north. A taxi takes about 1 hour 10 minutes and costs around NT$1,600–2,000.
By Train
Zhushan does not have a TRA station. The nearest station is Jiji Station (12 km north). From Jiji, take a taxi or bus.
By Car / Road
Zhushan is accessible via Freeway 3 (Zhushan exit). From Nantou City, drive south for about 30 minutes.
The town centre is walkable. A car is useful for reaching forest areas.
