Gongguan

Gongguan (公館) is a rural township in central Miaoli County, Taiwan, located east of Miaoli City. It is known for its Hakka culture, traditional agriculture, and the Gongguan Pottery workshops. The area has a relaxed rural character.

The climate is humid subtropical. October to March are the best months.

By Plane

Taichung International Airport (RMQ) is about 45 km south. A taxi takes about 45 minutes and costs around NT$1,100–1,400.

By Train

Gongguan does not have a TRA station. The nearest station is Miaoli Station (8 km west). From Miaoli, take a taxi or bus (15 minutes, taxi NT$250–300).

By Car / Road

Gongguan is accessible via County Road 128 and Provincial Highway 6. From Miaoli City, drive east for about 15 minutes.

A car or scooter is useful for exploring the rural area.
