Why visit Qionglin?

Qionglin (芎林) is a rural township in north-central Hsinchu County, Taiwan, situated between the cities of Zhubei and Zhudong. It is a primarily Hakka agricultural area known for its rice paddies, fruit orchards, and traditional farm villages. Qionglin offers a quiet slice of rural Taiwanese life.

The climate is humid subtropical. October to March are the best months. The township has a small centre with basic services, while most of the area is agricultural.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) is about 60 km north. A taxi takes about 55 minutes and costs around NT$1,300–1,600.

By Train

Qionglin does not have a TRA station. The nearest station is Zhubei Station, about 8 km north. From Zhubei, take a taxi or bus (10 minutes, taxi NT$200–300).

By Car / Road

Qionglin is accessible via Freeway 3 (Qionglin exit) and County Road 120. From Hsinchu City, drive northeast for about 20 minutes.

A car or scooter is needed to explore the dispersed villages. The main street is walkable.
