Kesbewa

Western Province, Sri Lanka

Why visit Kesbewa?

Kesbewa is a rapidly developing suburban area in the Colombo District, located about 18 km southeast of Colombo Fort. It is a residential and semi-rural suburb situated between Maharagama, Homagama, and Piliyandala. Kesbewa has experienced significant population growth in recent years as Colombo's urban sprawl extends outward along the High Level Road corridor.

The area is characterised by a mix of modern housing developments, traditional village settlements, and patches of agricultural land. Kesbewa has a growing commercial centre but retains a quieter, more community-oriented feel than inner Colombo suburbs. The climate is tropical monsoon, best visited December–March.
