About Eumseong

Eumseong (음성군) is a county in north-central Chungcheongbuk-do, bordered by Gyeonggi-do. It is best known for its Eumseong Traditional Market, one of the largest and most famous 5-day traditional markets in Korea. The market operates on days ending in 4 and 9 and draws visitors from across the region. Eumseong is also an agricultural centre known for its watermelons and organic farming.

By Plane

Cheongju Airport (CJJ IATA) is 40 min by car.

By Train

Eumseong Station on the Chungbuk Line (Mugunghwa from Cheongju, 40 min).

By Car / Road

From Seoul, take the Jungbu Expressway (1.5 hr). Buses from Cheongju and Seoul.

Local buses connect Eumseong-eup. A car is best for rural areas.
