Ang Mo Kio, meaning "red-haired man's bridge" in Hokkien (a reference to the British who once controlled a bridge here), is a large, mature HBD town in central Singapore. Developed in the 1970s, it is one of the island's most populous residential estates, known for its extensive parkland, the AMK Hub shopping complex, and a strong sense of local community. The Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park runs along its southern edge.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Changi Airport (SIN) is 22 km east, 25-35 min by taxi ($28-35). By MRT: take the Circle Line from the airport to Bishan, transfer to North-South Line to Ang Mo Kio (total ~45 min).

By Train

Ang Mo Kio MRT station (NS16) is on the North-South Line, 12 min from Orchard and 18 min from Marina Bay.

By Car / Road

Served by the Central Expressway (CTE) with exits at Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 and Ave 8. Parking at AMK Hub ($1.50/h) and HDB carparks.

Well-connected by bus services (e.g., 22, 24, 25, 65, 70, 73, 86, 88, 135, 265, 268, 269) and the MRT. Walkable around the town centre.
