Samalae'ulu is a village on the north coast of Savai'i island in Samoa's Gaga'emauga district. It lies along the main coastal road on the northern shore of the island. The village is part of the Gaga'emauga political district and maintains traditional Samoan village life.

Samoa has a warm tropical climate with consistent temperatures. The dry season from May to October is the most pleasant time to visit the north coast.

How to reach

By Plane

Maota Airport (MXS) on Savai'i is about 28 km southeast of Samalae'ulu — a 30-minute drive. Taxis cost around 45–55 WST.

By Train

By Car / Road

Samalae'ulu is about 38 km northwest of Salelologa on the coastal road. The road is sealed. Buses from Salelologa serve the route. The inter-island ferry from Mulifanua (Upolu) connects to Salelologa.

The village is walkable. For wider exploration of Savai'i, a rental car or taxi is recommended.
