Nizhnyaya Tavda

Nizhnyaya Tavda is a small rural settlement in Tyumenskaya oblast', located on the banks of the Tavda River approximately 100 km northeast of Tyumen. With a population of a few thousand, it is the administrative centre of Nizhne-Tavdinsky District. The settlement was established in the 18th century as a trading post on the Tavda River, which served as an important waterway in the Siberian interior.
