About Timisoara

Timisoara is Romania's third-largest city and the main economic hub of the Banat region. Known as 'Little Vienna' for its Secessionist palaces and public squares with their distinctive green, cream, and terracotta facades, the city was the European Capital of Culture in 2023 and the first European city with electric street lighting (1884). Timisoara was also where the 1989 Romanian Revolution began.
