Why visit Ybycui?

Ybycuí is a small town in southern Paraguarí department, best known as the gateway to Ybycuí National Park. The name is Guaraní for "water stone." The town is a quiet agricultural settlement with basic services. The national park, with its waterfalls, swimming holes, and the historic La Rosada iron foundry (Paraguay's first ironworks, built in the 1850s), is the main attraction. The climate is subtropical; best visited May–September.

Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (ASU) is about 90 km northwest.

No passenger rail.

By Car / Road

Ybycuí is about 30 km south of Paraguarí (40 min) via Route PY01 then a secondary road. Buses from Paraguarí and Asunción run daily.
