Serrania San Luis National Park

Concepción, Paraguay

Why visit Serrania San Luis National Park?

Serranía San Luis National Park is a protected area in eastern Concepción department, characterised by dramatic granite hill formations (the serranía of its name) rising from the surrounding flat plains. The park protects a mosaic of dry forest, cerrado, and rocky outcrop habitats that support a unique assemblage of plants and wildlife, including several endemic species. It is less visited than Paraguay's better-known parks, offering a true wilderness experience for hikers and nature enthusiasts. The dry season (May–September) is the best time to visit; trails become slippery and creek crossings difficult during the rainy summer.
