About San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo is a major city in Central department, lying directly south of Asunción and forming part of the metropolitan area's continuous urban sprawl. It is a university city, home to the National University of Asunción's main campus, and has a vibrant student atmosphere. The city is named after Saint Lawrence and is known for its large central market, the Mercado de San Lorenzo, and its lively nightlife centred around the university district. With over 250,000 residents, it is one of Paraguay's largest cities. The climate is subtropical; the best months to visit are May–September.

By Plane
Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (ASU) in Luque is about 12 km north.
By Train

By Car / Road
San Lorenzo is on Route PY01 (Avenida Defensores del Chaco), about 10 km south of central Asunción (20–30 min by car). Buses from Asunción run every 5 min (GS.3,000, 30–40 min).
Local buses and taxis connect San Lorenzo to the rest of the metropolitan area. The university campus is large and walkable.
