About Iperu

Iperu is a historic town in Ogun State, part of the Remo Yoruba area. It is known for the Iperu Remo Palace and its traditional ruler, the Akarigbo of Remo. Iperu is the headquarters of the Remo North local government area and is an agricultural centre for cocoa, kola nut, and cassava. The town celebrates the annual Remo Day festival. Iperu is also known for its traditional weaving and textile crafts.

The nearest major airport is Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS) in Lagos, about 70 km south-west.

Iperu is on the Lagos–Ibadan expressway, about 1 hour north of Lagos. Buses from Lagos and Ibadan pass through.
