Kankia is a town in central Katsina State on the Kano–Katsina road (the A9 highway), and the headquarters of Kankia Local Government Area, which also includes the towns and villages of Kafin Dangi, Sukuntuni, Rimaye, Sabuwar Duniya, Tafashiya, Gaza, and Kafin-soli. The population is predominantly Hausa and Fulani, and farming — rice, sorghum, and millet — is the main occupation.
