About Dutse

Dutse is the capital city of Jigawa State in north-western Nigeria. It is a relatively small, quiet administrative town, known for the Dutse Emir's Palace and the Dutse White Rock, a notable natural landmark. The town is predominantly Hausa-Fulani and a centre for Islamic learning.

The climate is hot and semi-arid, with a short rainy season from June to September.

Dutse is on the main Kano–Hadejia road. Buses run from Kano (1.5 hrs) and Hadejia (1.5 hrs).
