Kubwa

Kubwa is a large satellite town in the north-western FCT, located about 25 km from central Abuja along the Kubwa Expressway. One of the fastest-growing suburbs of Abuja, Kubwa began as a government housing estate and has expanded into a major residential and commercial centre serving the northern corridor of the FCT. It has its own large market, petrol stations, and a growing number of businesses catering to its commuter population.

About 30 minutes from central Abuja via the Kubwa Expressway. Shared taxis, buses, and keke connect Kubwa to Abuja city.

Keke NAPEP tricycles are the main local transport. The Kubwa Expressway can be congested during peak hours.

Kubwa Central Market is the main commercial hub. The estate layout with its numbered streets is interesting for urban planning.
