Tūrangi is a town in the Waikato region, located at the southern end of Lake Taupō on State Highway 1 approximately 50 km south of Taupō. It is one of New Zealand's premier trout fishing destinations.

The Tongariro River flows through Tūrangi, renowned worldwide for its brown and rainbow trout fishing. The town is also the gateway for Tongariro National Park and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

By Plane

The nearest airport is Taupō Airport (TUO), approximately 50 km north.

By Car / Road

Tūrangi is on State Highway 1, about a 35-minute drive south of Taupō. Bus services connect to Taupō and Wellington.

The town is walkable. A car is needed for the national park.
