Te Kuiti

Te Kuiti is a town in the Waikato region, located on State Highway 3 approximately 70 km south of Hamilton. It is known as the "Shearing Capital of the World" and hosts the annual New Zealand Shearing Championships.

Te Kuiti is a service centre for the King Country farming district. The town has a famous statue of a sheep shearer. The surrounding area features limestone caves and the Waitomo glowworm caves are 20 km north.

The Northern Explorer train stops at Te Kuiti on the Auckland–Wellington route.
