Te Aroha

Te Aroha is a town in the Waikato region, located at the base of Mount Te Aroha approximately 25 km north-east of Hamilton. It is known for its hot springs, historic buildings, and mountain scenery.

Te Aroha was a popular spa town in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Te Aroha Hot Pools still operate today. The town has a well-preserved Edwardian main street. Mount Te Aroha (952 m) is the highest point of the Kaimai Range.

The nearest major airport is Hamilton Airport (HLZ), approximately 40 km south-west.

By Car / Road

Te Aroha is on State Highway 26, about a 25-minute drive north-east of Hamilton. Bus services connect to Hamilton.

The town is walkable. A car is needed for the mountain.
