About Ghorahi

Ghorahi is a sub-metropolitan city in Dang District, located in the Inner Terai valley of the Deukhuri Valley. It is the largest city in Lumbini Province's northern hills and an important agricultural and commercial centre. The city is surrounded by fertile farmland and has a growing population.

The climate is humid subtropical with hot summers (April–June), a monsoon (June–September), and mild winters (October–February). The best time to visit is October–March.

How to reach

By Plane

Nepalgunj Airport (KEP) is 120 km south-west. A taxi from Nepalgunj costs Rs 4000–5000 (2.5 hours).

By Train

No railway.

By Car / Road

Ghorahi is on the Mahendra Highway (NH-01), 380 km west of Kathmandu (8–9 hours). Buses from Kathmandu and Nepalgunj serve the city.
