About Hetauda
Hetauda is a sub-metropolitan city and the administrative capital of Bagmati Province, located in a valley at the junction of the Tribhuvan and Mahendra Highways. It is an important industrial and commercial centre, with factories producing textiles, beverages, and construction materials. The city enjoys a scenic setting surrounded by hills and is a popular lunch stop for travellers between Kathmandu and the Terai.
The climate is humid subtropical with hot summers (April–June), a monsoon (June–September), and pleasant winters (October–February). The best time to visit is October–March.

By Plane
The nearest airport is Simara (SIF), 30 km south. A taxi from Simara costs around Rs 1000–1500.
By Train
No passenger railway. The nearest station is Birganj (45 km south).
By Car / Road
Hetauda is at the junction of the Tribhuvan Highway (Kathmandu–Birganj) and the Mahendra Highway (east–west). Buses from Kathmandu (130 km, 3–4 hours) are frequent. Both highways meet here, making it a key transit point.
Rickshaws and tempos (Rs 20–50). The valley is flat and walkable.
