About Shwegu

Shwegu is a small town in southern Kachin State, located on the Ayeyarwady River between Bhamo and Katha. It is a quiet riverside community with a mainly Shan and Kachin population. The town is a stop for river traffic and has a peaceful atmosphere.

The climate is subtropical, with the best weather from November to February.

Bhamo Airport (BMO) is 60 km north. The nearest major airport is in Myitkyina (MYT).
