About Zalun

Zalun is a small town in the northern Irrawaddy Delta, located on the Yangon–Pathein road. It is a market centre for the delta's rice and fishing industries. The town is quiet and receives no foreign tourism.

The climate is tropical monsoon, with the best weather from November to February.

By Plane

Yangon International Airport (RGN) is 100 km east, a 2-hour drive.

By Car / Road

Zalun is on the main road between Yangon (100 km, 2 hr) and Hinthada (30 km north, 30 min). Buses pass through regularly.

The town is walkable. Motorcycle taxis are available.
