Sussundenga
Manica, Mozambique
About Sussundenga
Sussundenga is a district capital in eastern Manica Province, situated at the foot of the Chimanimani Mountains. It is the primary gateway town for Chimanimani National Park and the hiking routes to Monte Binga, Mozambique's highest peak at 2,436 metres. The town itself is a small administrative and trading centre, but its location at the edge of one of Mozambique's most spectacular mountain wilderness areas makes it significant for adventure travellers. The surrounding area is fertile and green, with tea plantations and small farms dotting the lower slopes.
