Telenești

Telenești is a district in central Moldova, roughly 80 km northwest of Chișinău, situated in the rolling hills of the Codru forest region. The district center, the town of Telenești, is a quiet agricultural town surrounded by orchards, vineyards, and forests. As one of Moldova's 37 administrative divisions, it embodies the rural, agricultural heart of the country — a landscape of rolling hills, sunflower fields, vineyards, and traditional villages where daily life moves at the pace of the seasons.

Public transport consists of buses and marshrutka minibuses connecting the main town to the capital, with less frequent services to smaller villages. Roads within the district are mostly paved but can be poorly lit; rural lanes are often unpaved. Distances are modest — most settlements lie within 30–40 km of the district center.
