The nearest airport is Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City . From Mexico City, use Metro to the Lazaro station and connect to the TAPO bus station. Go to the Volcanes ticket counter and ask for a ticket to 🌍 Kilometro 88 en Atlatlahucan . The trip takes 90 minutes to 2 hours and costs about M150.
Atlatlahucan is best explored on foot if staying in the town centre, though a car is useful for reaching attractions in the surrounding area. Local taxi services and colectivos (shared vans) are available for shorter journeys. Colectivos are an affordable and authentic way to travel between nearby towns and attractions.

🌍 Ex-Convento San Mateo Apóstol , Del Convento San Mateo . Enormous 16th-century monastery established in 1570 and built by Augustinian friars who were evangelizing Christianity and converting indigenous populations. The complex consists of the main church with its ornate facade and fancy interior, an open amphitheatre where the monks would preach to the natives, and a large 2-story cloister where the monks lived, surrounding an interior garden courtyard.
