About Rincon de Romos

Rincón de Romos is a municipality in the northern part of Aguascalientes state, Mexico. Founded in the 16th century during the Spanish colonial period, the town grew around mining and agriculture. Today it is a quiet, traditional Mexican town known for its colonial architecture, religious heritage, and proximity to the Sierra Fría mountain range. It serves as a gateway for visitors heading to the Sierra Fría ecological reserve.

The climate is semi-arid with hot summers (temperatures reaching 30-33°C) and cool winters (lows around 2-5°C). The best time to visit is October through April when temperatures are mild. The rainy season (June–September) brings occasional afternoon showers that temporarily green the landscape.

Rincón de Romos has a compact town centre organized around its main plaza and parish church. The surrounding municipality includes agricultural land, small communities, and access to the Sierra Fría foothills.
