About Saratok
Saratok is a small town in the Betong Division of southern Sarawak, situated along the Saratok River. It is surrounded by pepper, rubber, and oil-palm plantations which form the economic backbone of the area. The town serves the surrounding rural population with a market, shops, and basic facilities. Saratok has a quiet, traditional character typical of small Sarawak towns. Traditional Iban longhouses are found in the countryside around Saratok, offering visitors a glimpse into the traditional lifestyle.
