About Betong

Betong is a town on the Batang Saribas River in western Sarawak, in the heartland of the Iban people. It is known for its longhouses and traditional Iban culture, including the famous Betong pua kumbu (woven textiles). The town is the gateway to the Batang Ai National Park and the surrounding Iban settlements.

By Train

By Car / Road

Betong is 250 km from Kuching via the Pan Borneo Highway and the Betong road (3 hr drive).

A car is essential for visiting longhouses.
