About Ambanja

Ambanja is a transit town in Antsiranana Province (MG-D), Madagascar, strategically located at the junction of the road to Nosy Be and the main RN6 highway connecting the north and south of the country. It serves as the primary land gateway for travellers heading to Ankify (the ferry port for Nosy Be) and as a stopover for long-distance journeys along the national route.

The town has a busy, functional character centred on its transport hubs. The climate is tropical, with a hot, humid rainy season from November to April and a cooler dry season from May to October. Ambanja is not a destination in itself but a practical hub for accessing the surrounding attractions.
