It is a remote settlement in the high Maloti Mountains, at an elevation of over 2,400 m. The area is known for its pristine alpine scenery, with grasslands, rock pools, and clear streams.

The climate is alpine, with cold winters and mild summers. Snow is possible in winter. The best time to visit is from November to March.
