Taung is a small settlement in Mohale's Hoek District, Lesotho, located in the lowland region of southern Lesotho. It is a quiet, rural area where agriculture is the main livelihood. The landscape is characterised by low hills and farmland, with a peaceful, traditional atmosphere. The community is predominantly Basotho.

The climate is temperate, with hot summers and cool, dry winters. The best time to visit is during the dry winter months from May to September.
