Saysathan

Saysathan is a district in southern Xaignabouli Province, located in a rural valley surrounded by hills. The area is agricultural with rice farming and livestock. The district capital is a small settlement serving local farming communities.

The climate is tropical monsoon. November to February is the best travel period. The town is basic with limited services.

The nearest airport is Nan (NNT) in Thailand, about 100 km west. From there, cross the Mekong at Pak Lai.

Saysathan is accessible from Sayaboury via secondary roads heading south, approximately 80 km. The road is partially paved and may be rough in sections. Local transport is limited.
