About Hinboun

Hinboun is a district in northern Khammouan Province, located where the Nam Hinboun River flows into the Mekong. The district is rural and agricultural, with rice farming as the main economic activity. The area serves as a gateway to the Hinboun River and the Kong Lor Cave region.

The climate is tropical monsoon. November to February is the most comfortable period.

Hinboun is on Route 13, about 40 km north of Thakhek. Buses between Vientiane and Thakhek stop here.
