Zaysan

Zaysan is a town in Shyghys Qazaqstan Region near Lake Zaysan, one of the largest lakes in Kazakhstan. The area is known for its natural beauty, fishing, and as a gateway to the Altai Mountains and the Markakol Nature Reserve.

From Oskemen, drive east. Buses from Oskemen.

The settlement is compact enough to explore on foot. For longer trips, shared taxis (marshrutkas) and local buses serve the area. Ride-hailing apps like Yandex Taxi operate in larger towns.
