Why visit Rajif?

Rajif is a small village in the Ma'an Governorate of southern Jordan, located in the arid highlands of the southern Jordanian plateau. The village is part of the rural and pastoral landscape of the Ma'an region, where Bedouin traditions and livestock herding remain central to daily life.

The village sits at an elevation of approximately 900–1,100 m, with an arid desert climate featuring hot summers and cool winters. The surrounding terrain is characterised by open desert steppe, rocky outcrops, and sparse vegetation adapted to the dry conditions.

Rajif is not a tourist destination and has no visitor infrastructure. It offers an authentic glimpse into the traditional Bedouin-influenced lifestyle of southern Jordan's interior communities.

By Plane

The nearest airports are King Hussein International Airport (AQJ) in Aqaba and Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) near Amman.

By Car / Road

Rajif is accessible by local roads from the Desert Highway or connecting routes from Ma'an. A private vehicle is essential, as public transport is extremely limited.

The village is very small and entirely walkable.
