Mugi
Tokushima, Japan
Why visit Mugi?
Mugi (牟岐) is a coastal town in southeastern Tokushima Prefecture, known for its striking rock formations along the Muroto-Anan Coast. The town's coastline features unusual geological formations shaped by millennia of wave action, including the famous "Candle Rock" (Rosoku-iwa), a tall sea stack that glows in the sunset light. Mugi is also home to a popular seaside hot spring and offers a quiet escape from Japan's urban centers. Spring and autumn are ideal for visiting; summer is beach season but can be hot and humid.
