About Port Morant

Port Morant is a small fishing village on the southeastern coast of Saint Thomas Parish, Jamaica. Located approximately 5 km east of the parish capital Morant Bay, the village sits on a natural harbour that was historically used for shipping bananas and other agricultural produce. The area retains a quiet, unhurried character, with fishing and small-scale agriculture as the primary livelihoods.

The village is known locally for its scenic coves and relatively unspoiled coastline. Unlike Jamaica's more developed resort areas, Port Morant offers visitors a chance to experience authentic rural Jamaican life. The surrounding hills are dotted with coconut palms and banana plants, and the waters offshore are popular with local fishermen.

Port Morant has a small population and limited tourist infrastructure. There are no major hotels or resorts, and amenities are basic. The village is best suited for travellers seeking a quiet retreat or a base for exploring the wider Saint Thomas parish.
