Corciano
Umbria, Italy
Why visit Corciano?
Corciano is between Perugia and Lake Trasimeno . It was founded by the Etruscans, and fell under Roman influence, when it became an important agricultural area. In the Middle Ages its good fortifications made it a prized asset and it was much fought over; much of its circular medieval walls still stand today. Corciano hosts the long-running Corciano Festival each August (early August through Ferragosto on the 15th), a medieval-costume festival of music, theatre, and dance held in the historic centre.
