Nettuno

Lazio, Italy

Why visit Nettuno?

Nettuno is a coastal town in the province of Rome, adjoining Anzio, on the Tyrrhenian coast south of the capital. It is a major site of Catholic pilgrimage as the location of the shrine of Santa Maria Goretti, whose remains are kept in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Grace and St. Maria Goretti. Nearby is the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, honoring the roughly 8,000 American soldiers who died during the liberation of Sicily and mainland Italy in the Second World War.
