Why visit Pakdasht?

Pakdasht (پاکدشت), capital of Pakdasht County, lies about 35 km east of Tehran at an elevation of roughly 1,200 m, giving it a temperate continental climate. The modern city formed in 1989 when the village of Pakdasht merged with the neighboring villages of Mamazan and Quheh, part of a broader late-20th-century shift from agrarian settlement to urban center; its population grew from 126,281 at the 2006 census to 236,319 by 2016. Pakdasht is known within Iran as a major center of flower and greenhouse production, alongside staple field crops such as wheat, barley, corn, and pomegranates grown on its fertile plains.
