Rey

Tehrān, Iran

Why visit Rey?

Rey (ری) is the oldest existing city in Tehran Province, lying just south of the capital. Once a major stop on the Silk Road, it was largely destroyed by the Mongols in 1220. Today it is a working-class suburb with the important Shah Abdol-Azim shrine and Sassanian-era ruins.
