About Sorkheh

Sorkheh is a small city in Semnan Province, located on the edge of the Dasht-e Kavir desert. It has a hot arid climate and a history as a stop on the Silk Road. Traditional architecture includes a caravanserai and old bathhouse.

The town serves as a quiet base for exploring the surrounding region, with its own charms including traditional architecture, local bazaars, and the warm hospitality of its residents. Visitors who take the time to explore beyond the main thoroughfares will discover a side of Iran that few international travellers see — authentic, unhurried, and deeply rooted in centuries of tradition.
