Qorveh

Qorveh is a city in east-central Kordestan Province, located on the border with Hamadan Province at 1,900 m elevation. It lies on the Sanandaj–Hamadan road and is an important agricultural centre for wheat, barley, and other grains. The climate features cold, snowy winters and mild summers. The surrounding plains are among the most productive agricultural lands in Kurdistan.

By Bus

Regular buses connect Qorveh to Sanandaj (100 km west, 1.5 hr) and Hamadan (100 km east, 1.5 hr). Buses stop at the central terminal.

By Car

Highway 35 between Sanandaj and Hamadan passes directly through Qorveh.

Qorveh is small and walkable. Shared taxis are available for trips within the city.

• Qorveh Bazaar: A local market selling produce, textiles, and household goods.

• Qorveh Plains: The vast agricultural plain surrounding the city is particularly scenic in spring when the fields are green.

• Jameh Mosque of Qorveh: A simple Qajar-era mosque.

• Walk or cycle through the agricultural plains.

• Visit local farms to see traditional grain cultivation.

Small Kurdish restaurants around the main square serve dolma, kebabs, and kookoo (herb frittata). Fresh flatbread is available from local bakeries.

Tea is the staple. Doogh (salted yogurt drink) is common.
