About Khorramshahr

Khorramshahr (خرمشهر) is a port city in Khūzestān Province, at the confluence of the Karun and Arvand Rud rivers. It was a major commercial port before the Iran–Iraq War, during which it was captured and held for most of the war. The city was largely destroyed and has been rebuilt as a symbol of Iranian resistance.

The climate is hot desert, with extremely hot summers and mild winters.

Abadan International Airport (ABD) is about 20 km south.

Khorramshahr Railway Station is the southern terminus of Iran's rail network.

By Car / Road

Khorramshahr is 15 km north of Abadan and 130 km southwest of Ahvaz.
