About Kashan

Kashan is one of Iran's most historic cities, located in northern Esfahan Province at the edge of the Dasht-e Kavir desert. It was a key Silk Road stop and is famous for its exquisite Qajar-era merchant houses, the Unesco-listed Fin Garden, and its production of rosewater and carpets. The city dates back to the 5th millennium BCE, with the Tepe Sialk ziggurat as evidence of one of the world's oldest civilisations.
