Namasigue
Choluteca, Honduras
Why visit Namasigue?
Namasigue is a small municipality in Choluteca department, southern Honduras, located in the hot lowlands near the Pacific coast. The town is surrounded by agricultural land, including melon and sorghum fields, and cattle ranches. The climate is tropical dry, with temperatures regularly exceeding 35 °C during the extended dry season from November to April.
The rainy season (May–October) transforms the landscape from brown to green, but the area remains one of the driest in Honduras. Namasigue is a modest agricultural community with limited tourist infrastructure.
The municipality's proximity to the Gulf of Fonseca coast makes it a potential base for exploring coastal wetlands and mangrove ecosystems.
