Concepción de las Minas is a small town in the Chiquimula department of Guatemala, known for its mining history and rural highland scenery. The town has a population of roughly 3,000 and sits at approximately 1,100 metres elevation in the southern part of the department. The name ("Conception of the Mines") reflects the area's historical mining activity, though mines are no longer active.
The town is a quiet agricultural centre surrounded by cornfields, coffee plantations, and forested hills. It sees virtually no international tourism and offers an authentic rural Guatemalan experience.

The nearest airport is La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City, approximately 200 km west (4–5 hours by road).
By Train
There is no railway service to Concepción de las Minas.
By Car / Road
From Chiquimula (45 km, 1.5 hours): head south from Chiquimula through the highlands. The road is partially paved with unpaved sections. Colectivos may run from Chiquimula but service is infrequent.
The town is small and walkable. Footpaths connect to surrounding hamlets.
