By Plane

The nearest airport is La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City, about 90 km south. A taxi or private transfer takes about 2–2.5 hours.

By Train

No passenger rail service is available.

By Car / Road

From Chimaltenango, head north on highland roads — about 40 km, 1–1.5 hours. From Guatemala City, take CA-1 west to Chimaltenango, then north — about 90 km, 2.5 hours. Chicken buses and minibuses connect San Jose Poaquil with Chimaltenango; the fare is about Q15–20.

The town center is small and walkable. Tuk-tuks are available for local trips. Minibuses connect with surrounding villages.
